Glossybox | January 2015

Hello My Lovelies,

I hope you are all doing well and are having a fabulous weekend so far. I cannot believe January is almost over, it feels like the month just flew by. Like everyone else, January was a month of fresh starts for me. I wanted to start the year as I meant to go on and just throw myself into various things, one being my blog itself. This month has seen so many milestones in my life, one of which being my first full month at my new job (so exciting) - it has been a great experience so far and I cannot wait to see what else it brings. I know it is a little late (slap on the wrist) but I wanted to bring you this months Glossybox. Non including the special edition Harvey Nichols Glossybox this is my 3rd Month reviewing the box itself and it is always so excited when this glorious little parcel arrives on my doorstep. This month is all about 'New Year Must Haves' - totally appropriate with January and the New Year itself - let's take a peek inside!

Firstly, let me start off my saying that this month we have five full sized products, yes you read that right, FIVE! Out of the three months I have received so far this is the first time I have received entirely full sized products. As a blogger this makes me extremely happy and overall it is quite exciting!  Not only do you receive five full sized products, Glossybox also decided to throw in a special little Gift Card too.

Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm in Superfruits (Full Size) | RRP £3.75

Firstly, we have this Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm in Superfruits. I think you cannot go wrong with lip balms and especially at this time of the year when the weather is quite temperamental. This lip balm is 97% organic and 100% natural so rest assured you are using something free from any nasties. The formulation contains blueberry, acai, goji, baobab and pomegranate oils which help nourish your lips and also leave a sweet fruity taste behind. I have almost come to the end of my beloved Body Shop Vitamin E Lip Care so I will be sure to give this a try next - it may become a new favourite of mine.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics All Over Glow (Full Size) | RRP £10.00

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics is a completely new brand to me, however, I guess the whole idea of a subscription box is to introduce you to new brands. This All Over Glow is an oil-free lightweight illuminating gel, enriched with micronised pearlescent pigments & jasmine extract to highlight the face for a fresh, radiant complexion. If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know how much I love an illuminated base and highlighter in general so I am looking forward to giving this product a try. I feel you could definitely use this straight from the tube and dab it onto the highest points of your face, however, I think you could even mix this in with your primer or foundation for an extra dewy glow. At first glance I feel this could be a great alternative to Benefits High Beam or Moon Beam - is it worth the £10.00 price tag? I will be sure to let you know sometime soon.

Nicka K New York Colorluxe Powder Blush in  (Full Size) | RRP £6.70

Yet again, Nicka K NewYork was a completely new brand to me. When I first caught sights of this product I was instantly drawn to the rose gold-esque packaging (insert heart eyed emoji here) and also thought they looked just like the Seventeen Cheek Stamps (I own two and love them) - everything from the packaging itself and the application. These are not your typical style blushers and I love that even thought it is a loose formula without the worry of making a mess. According to the Nicka K NewYork website you can achieve a radiant and perfect flow with these blushes. These revolutionary loose powder blushes make application effortless and never overdone. Housed in luxurious faux metal packaging with a soft, touch applicator puff, these blushes are sure to add the finished touches to any makeup look.

MeMeMe Eyeliner Pencil in Clay (Full Size) | RRP £4.00

MeMeMe is a brand I know and well and truly love. A few month ago I had the opportunity to try a selection of their products (review here) and I was very impressed. When I saw there was a MeMeMe product featured in this months box I was extremely pleased as I know they are such a great and affordable brand. Eyeliner is something I use on a daily basis so adding another one to collection will go down a treat - the one thing I wasn't completely sold on was the shade. To be completely honest I have never used a brown eyeliner before so it will be interesting to have a play around with it. I think it is more of a comfort zone thing as I always reach for my beloved black eyeliner.

Kueshi Natural & Pleasant Cosmetics Revitalizing Face Toner (Full Size) | RRP £8.01

This product instantly stood out of the box to me, not only because it is quite a large bottle but that bright pink colour is just so fun. Another new brand to try out but I love giving new skincare a try so this will go down a treat. According to the official website, Kueshi products combine high quality active ingredients and natural products for their effectiveness, smoothness and texture providing optimal results to the skin. The formulation includes aloe vera, chamomile and caledula which are said to moisturise and rebalance the skin providing a sense of freshness and softness around the face. It combines natural moisturisers that soothe the skin leaving it feeling comfortable, fresh, clean and healthy.

Hello Fresh £25 Gift Card

I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I saw a £25 Gift Card including in this months box. The gift card itself is for a food delivery subscription service called 'Hello Fresh' and I have to say I am extremely intrigued by the brand. There is always a good side and a bad side to receiving these types of vouchers in subscription boxes and of course there are catches. Yes, you receive a £25 gift voucher, however, the cheapest box (the bestseller) to redeem it on is £39, so you still have to put money towards an order. No doubt, I will most probably give the service a try, however, I think I will hold on until my new kitchen is completed so I can do a full review for you all. The boxes themselves look great and I love the idea of a box full of yummy food and easy recipes.

I hope you all enjoyed this evenings post and taking a peek inside this months Glossybox. Overall, I am really impressed with this months box and it has made me rather excited for next months box - being February (the month of love) I would love to see a Valentines themed box. In total this months box works out around £32.50 and for a £12.95* box (inc p&p) you are getting your money's worth, plus that is not including the £25 voucher. Previous boxes have contained a bit of a mixture when it comes to products, however, I quite like that this month is focused more around beauty and makeup with the added bonus of a food element. Like always lovelies, if you have any questions, requests or if you just want a chat you can contact me on my social media or leave me a comment below. I love hearing from you all and I make sure to read every single comment…they really make my day!

What do you think of this months box?

Lots of Love
