My Staple Pinky Nude Lip ft. Anastasia Beverly Hills & MAC

Hello My Lovelies,

I hope you are all doing well and you have had an amazing bank holiday weekend - I almost don't want it to end but I know reality is calling! After much deliberation, I thought I would share one of my favourite ever lip combinations with you all today - a full proof pairing that I have been wearing pretty much one and off for a year now and one that I would recommend to anyone. I shared this combination over on Instagram (@SophiaMeola) yesterday and received so much love on the picture that I just knew it was only fitting I shared it over on my blog also. I am lipstick obsessed and absolutely love how they can change the way you look and feel. I am always on the look out for the next shade to add to my collection - so pretty please don't forget to leave your favourite combinations below also.

"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick" - Audrey Hepburn

The Lip Liner

Firstly, let's start off with the lip liner. I have a handful of MAC lip liners but Whirl has got to be my most loved shade in my makeup collection. I know there was so much hype surrounding this product with Kylie Jenner but honestly, it is such a gorgeous shade and I find myself pairing it with so many different lipsticks - it is full proof. MAC describe this shade as a dirty rose and I would say that is pretty true, however, it is essentially a pinky nude and the formulation is extremely creamy and easy to apply. This is the second pencil I have got through and I have another two on route to me - you know I had to take advantage of the Debenhams 10% off Health and Beauty promo they had recently. You may notice that this is pretty much a fresh pencil, that's because I lost the remainders of my first one out last weekend...I was literally heartbroken as I never loose any of my makeup (touch wood) and to this day I have no idea how it happened haha. Never-the-less, I always make sure I have a backup in my collection and I take this shade everywhere with me.

The Lipstick

The lipstick in question is MAC Faux and I honestly do not know how I coped without this lipstick for so long. I stumbled across this shade by accident after missing my train home from St Pancras. Whilst waiting for the next train I sought refuge in the MAC store (as you do haha) and I had a little list of MAC items I had my eye on at the time so naturally I was looking for any kind of excuse to have a cheeky browse haha. I was originally looking to try Brave which has a matte formula, however, after speaking to the sales assistant she recommended another shade to me...and the rest is history. MAC describe Faux as a muted mauve pink shade with a satin finish and I am completely obsessed by it, it is a full proof shade that I feel confident wearing it...it has almost become my signature lip shade and if you're ever wondering what product I am wearing on my lips it will usually be this. This is the third one I have gone through and I have another two on the way and I plan on stocking up even more when I travel this summer - thank you Duty Free!

The Liquid Lipstick

When I was in New York last November for my birthday I made sure to stock up on as many US products as possible and of course one of the brands had to be Anastasia Beverly Hills. If you would like to see a full Anastasia Liquid Lipstick collection then please let me know as I picked up a handful of beautiful shades and I would love to share them with you all. After trying one of their liquid lipsticks I can totally appreciate the hype behind them, they are honestly some of the best lip products I have ever used and I can't wait to stock up on some more shads. Before New York I would wear Whirl lip liner and Faux lipstick together, however, when I introduced Pure Hollywood to the party it was a complete game changed. I use a small amount and mainly focus it on the middle section of my lips to create a slight ombre and the illusion of fuller lips. However, even worn alone it is such a beautiful shade in its own right and one of my favourites. Pure Hollywood is described as a pale mauve nude and pairs perfectly with Whirl and Faux. As you can see in the swatches below, they all resemble similar shades, however, offer different textures and finished.

The Routine

So, now we've spoken about each product let's go through the routine in which I use them and how I achieve my stable pinky nude lip. I first start off with Whirl lip liner and enhance my natural lip shape only really emphasising my cupids bow. I then go back and create a few lines going down my lips to almost create some contour lines - this is great for creating a fuller lip look. I then go in with Faux lipstick and blend everything together so it looks seamless. At this point, the contours we created earlier have blended in slightly and have created slight shadows - this is exactly what we want. I then grab Pure Hollywood and add this to the centre of my top and bottom lip and use a lip brush to blend the edges slightly together. This create a slight ombre lip and the illusion of fuller lips! The longevity of using Whirl lip liner and Faux lipstick together is amazing, however, adding that small amount of Pure Hollywood adds that extra seal and honestly, the products are not going to move. You could be out all day or partying the night away and you won't have to worry about re-applying - perfection!

I hope you all enjoyed this evenings post! I would love to hear your thoughts on the products mentioned above and what lip combinations you have been loving too! Like always lovelies, if you have any questions, requests or if you just want to chat you can contact me on my social media or you can leave me a comment below. I love hearing from you all and I make sure to read every single comment...they honestly make my day!

Benefit Dandelion Shy Beam

Hello My Lovelies,

I hope you are all doing well and have had a wonderful weekend. I've been a little absent from the blogging scene for a few weeks now but I am back in full force ready to share some amazing products, collaborations and rambles with you all. If you ever wonder what I'm up to behind the blog then don't forget I am always active on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. So, if you do follow my various social channels then you would have seen that I had the pleasure of attending the London Benefit launch for their new Brow Collection on the Good Ship Benefit. I will be reviewing the collection and talking you through the entire event really soon but honestly, you are all going to be blown away by this magical collection!

Now, I find myself declining so many events these days due to work commitments outside of my blog and also because attending an event can be quite daunting in general, especially if you are going alone! I'm not the most confident person and I do get anxious but I am so glad that I decided to push myself and attend this incredible launch. I saw some familiar faces and I made some new benebabe buddies too. I walked away super motivated after attending the event that I thought I would jump back in with a Benefit review! Benefit have been going full speed with some incredible releases during 2016 and we are not even half way through the year yet. Benefit have always been a brand that has stood out to me and I have loved their overall ethos and product range for as long as I can remember...so naturally it is always extremely exciting when they launch something new. If you are a huge Dandelion fan like I am then you are going to love this product.

So, Dandelion Shy Beam* is the newest edition to the Benefit Dandelion collection and I have fallen head over heels for it...and not just because it's rose gold haha. Just like High Beam, Sun Beam, Benetint, Posietint, Chachatint and Lollitint the brand new Dandelion Shy Beam comes in the exact same nail polish-esque packaging with a rose gold twist. You all know how much I love rose gold so that get's a 10/10 from me! It also includes the classic slim brush applicator that helps you apply the perfect amount of product that can then be blended out with your finger or a brush of choice. Essentially this is a nude pink matte-radiant highlighter that creates a delicate radiance to the skin. The formula has been carefully chosen to allow you to highlight and sculpt without the shine, enhancing the look of cheekbones and giving you that lifted look to the eye.

Overall, I am completely hooked on this product and I have been reaching for it a lot recently. I have been using it within my highlighting routine in replace of my light concealer shades to brighten under my eyes, down my nose, in the center of my forehead and on my chin. I also set my cheekbones with my beloved Dandelion box blush to enhance that natural rosy glow. I also love the combination of the matte pink hues alongside Benefit Hoola - the perfect summer duo that I will be adding to my vacation makeup bag and summer beauty routine for sure.

Dandelion Shy Beam is available to purchase in stores and online now and retails for £19.50*.

I hope you all enjoyed hearing about this fabulous new Benefit product, I would love to hear your thoughts about it! Like always lovelies, if you have any questions, requests or if you just want to chat you can contact me on my social media or you can leave me a comment below. I love hearing from you all and I make sure to read every single comment...they honestly make my day!

What do you think about Benefit's Dandelion Shy Beam?

Lots of Love
