Hello My Lovelies,
I hope you are all doing well and are having a spectacular start to 2015! After having such a great response to my previous Toni & Guy post the team recently got in contact to see whether I would be interested in giving another styling tool from their Salon Professional range a try. Like I mentioned in my previous post, Toni & Guy recently launched their Salon Professional range, which consists of a selection of hair styling tools that have all been used backstage at London Fashion Shows. The Salon Professional range consist of their Professional AC Compact Dryer (review here), Professional Flawless Finish Straighteners, XL Wide Plate Straighteners and of course the Extreme Volume Rollers. The team at Toni & Guy have also been extremely generous and have given me the opportunity for one of my followers to win a set of the Extreme Volume rollers too. I have to say after using them that I am completely impressed and I think you will love them also.
Featured as part of the Salon Professional range, "the unique duo heat technology ensures these rollers are all about big volume, with the added option to tailor your set with extra rollers". The rollers are designed to protect your hair colour with the soft flocked barrels, the innovative duo heat performance heats and styles from the core and locks the style from the outside also. The Extreme Rollers heat up within minutes and their super compact deign makes travelling easy. The set comes with 6 small and 4 large rollers with more available to purchase to tailor your hair. I love the idea of purchasing extra rollers and as you could see the team at Toni & Guy had to send over 2 extra boxes as I have quite a lot of thick hair haha. One thing I would have liked with the extra rollers is some sot of storage for them, like their own little travel box. Their packaging is fine and I am using them at the moment but thinking long-term it would be nice if they had their own case. Obviously, you do need to place the extra rollers in to heat once you have used the ones within the set, to some this could seem a little tedious, however, the rollers take under 5 minutes to heat so you won't be waiting around for a long time.
The Toni & Guy Extreme Volume Rollers have a duo heat technology. You can effortlessly achieve glamorous volume and defined waves with volumous root lift by using this ultimate styling set from Toni & Guy. With innovative heat technology the rollers emit heat from their core, leaving your curls bouncier for longer! Sounds perfect right?! That's not all...the clips which come with the rollers are quite unique and in comparison to other brands I haven't seen much like it. They have two metal plates which collect the heat in a very similar way in which the rollers do. By having the clips heated as well as the rollers it will not only make your curls last longer but will make them more glamorous and more defined. As you can see from the picture above some of the rollers look a little overflowing, however, I assure you they all felt secure and did not fall out of my head whilst I was getting ready throughout the night.
The picture above doesn't show how I placed the rollers, however, I wanted to let you know how I use the different sizes to achieve the best possible look from the rollers themselves. The larger rollers are to help give your hair more volume at the roots so this is why I usually opt to place them more around my crown and top section of my hair - as this is usually the place where I need more lift. The smaller rollers are used to create tighter curls so I tend to place these in between the larger rollers, around my face and at the back of my head. I loved the fact that there were enough butterfly clips for all of the rollers within the set. Before exploring and trying out other brands I would religiously use my Babyliss Heated Rollers, which I have used for over 4 years. I love how the set comes with three different sized rollers but the set does not come with enough clips. The set does come with bobby pin like hooks but personally I feel these are not as strong enough to keep rollers in place. Big thumbs up to Toni & Guy for extra rollers and butterfly clips!
After placing all of the rollers in my hair I left them in to work their magic whilst I was getting ready throughout the night. A few at the front where I had placed them at different angles were getting in the way of me doing my makeup so after around 30 minutes I took these out and pinned them up with a bobby pin. By this time the rollers where completely cooled so I could have taken the rest of the rollers out also. I tend to try and keep my rollers in as long as possible as I like to ensure when they are cooled that the curls have had enough time to set. However, this is just my liking and completely unnecessary as all you have to do is wait until they are cool, which can take anything between 20-30 minutes.
I hope you all enjoyed this post, I would love to know your thoughts on the Extreme Volume Rollers. Also, please leave any tips and trick you might have on achieving big volumous curls! Like always lovelies, if you have any questions, requests or if you just want a chat you can contact me on my social media or leave me a comment below. I love hearing from you all and I make sure to read every single comment…they really make my day!
