Glossybox | November 2014

Hello My Lovelies,

I hope you are all doing well and have had an incredible weekend! I worked all weekend but I must say it has completely flown by which has left me with no time at all to do anything a. A little update on what I've been doing...I actually got some amazing new on Friday that I got a job that I applied for! I am still very overwhelmed by it all and I am thinking about writing a more personal post about it as I really pushed myself. I still can't believe little ol' me is a 'Marketing Executive'...eeep!

Firstly, I wanted to ask how have you been liking my photos in my last few posts? We are having developments done at home and I haven't been able to whip out all of my fancy new lighting (they are still in their boxes) so I have resulted to using the spotlight lighting in my current bedroom. I hope I can work around it as I really miss the natural lighting from the summer! I think I am such a perfectionist that I just want to make sure everything looks good haha.

So I diverged as usual so back into today's post! I thought I would bring you this months Glossybox. Harvey Nichols launched their special edition box (review here) at the beginning of the month so I was rather excited to see what they included in this months box. From first glance I have to say there are some great products in here from brands I know and love but also from some great new brands.

This was a completely new brand to me but that is what I love about subscription boxes and being introduced to new products. This is an oil-free moisture gel that is said to deliver deep hydration while minimising the appearance of fine lines. H20+ say you could even pop it into the refrigerator for a few hours before application for an even more refreshing affect. I feel this would be a product that you would need to use for a little while before being able to reap the rewards, however, I have to say it is such a refreshing product to apply to the face...especially after a scrub or intense face mask.

Burt's Bees are one of my favourite lip products! My lips are so cracks and sore at the moment with the weather change so I know this will definitely come in handy, especially whilst working. Like everything else the Lip Shines are 100% natural with a sheer colour that is enriched with moisturising Apricot wax which glides onto the lips for a sweet and super shiny finish. This Blush shade is the perfect colour for me, especially for a quick wash of colour during the week when you can't be bothered to do much else with your makeup (haha guilty) the lips save everything!

Yet again this was a completely new product for me to try. This MONU Skincare Refining Capri Facial Oil is described as an invigorating facial oil to balance oily skin and decongest pores to ensure breakouts remain a thing of the past. It has a lovely lemony aromatherapy scent which is great for the evenings if you want to relax and unwind. MONU recommend this product for both the morning and evenings or even used as an intensive treatment instead of a night cream. Facial oils are still something I rarely use, however, I have to say that a little goes a long way with this one and it doesn't leave a greasy look behind.

Firstly, how cute is the packaging and the name?! At first glance this literally reminded me of something from Too Faced. This was another completely new brand to me but I think I am in love already. This retractable pencil provides a deep colour finish with a long-lasting result. I contains Vitamin E with anti-aging and anti-radical action. Use the turning mechanism to draw a precise line which could be blended out with a brush or fingertips for a smokey finish. The formula is extremely pigmented and creamy which makes it the ultimate dupe for the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencils.

Umberto Gianni is a brand I have tried many times, however this was a new product for me. This miracle worker uses age-old beauty ingredients that instantly and visibly transforms even the most dry and frizzy hair. I am excited to give this a proper try and I have high hopes that it will help my hair during these cold, wet and miserable days we are currently having. I love how we received a full sized product and I have to say the packaging is pretty chic. Also, if you are not keen on using hair oil straight on your hair this would make a great alternative...especially if you are a newbie to hair oils and want to give something quick and easy a try.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a £20 voucher for 'Best Secret' included in the box. They must have been keeping their website a complete secret as this was the first time I had ever heard of them previously. At first glance they do look extremely similar to Secret Sales here in the UK, however, there are a few differences in products and sales etc. I decided to give them a try and use my £20 voucher...there was a minimum spend before it was redeemable, however, I decided to just got for it. Overall, I am still in two mind about the website. Yes, I picked up a few bargains but I was a little disappointed that some of the items did not come in their original packaging etc. If you have used the website before I would love to hear of your experiences and feedback.

I hope you all enjoyed today's post and taking a peek inside this months Glossybox. What do you think? This is my second Glossybox review for you all and I have to say I am very pleased. I was introduced to a load of new brands and products which is always a bonus. Out of the five products there were 3 full size and only 2 samples...not bad. In total this months box works out a little over £38 which means you are getting three times more of your moneys worth, plus that is not including the £20 voucher. Just like the Harvey Nichols box I really like how they have included a mixture of makeup, skincare and haircare products. Keeping in with my Christmas Gift Guide theme I personally think that a subscription like Glossybox would make the perfect gift for any beauty addict! Like always lovelies, if you have any questions, requests or if you just want a chat you can contact me on my social media or leave me a comment below. I love hearing from you all and I make sure to read every single comment…they really make my day!

Lots of Love

  6. I have to say of all the female beauty boxes that I have seen, and there are loads, this one wouldn't be a favourite. It seems to lack originality.

  7. You got a better box than me! I think the lighting in your photos is just fine, but I know what you mean, I'm struggling now it's so much darker and still trying to find a way around it x

  8. Hmm...I have been subscribed to quite a few boxes (though not Glossybox as we don't get it in Australia anymore), so I think I'm boxed out!

I don't think I'd have been blown away by this box though the value is definitely there. I think the eyeliner would be my favourite item.

Winter is the hardest time when it comes to blogging, there's just so little natural daylight available. I think your photos are lovely though! Congrats on the new job!
