St. Ives | Invigorating Apricot Scrub

Hello My Lovelies,

Hope you are all doing well and having a fabulous weekend so far. I had a lovely day yesterday at my local shopping centre checking out the new Chanel Autumn 2013 Collection, had a makeover done by the lovely Izzy and picked up a few goodies which i will be reviewing soon for you all :D

So todays post is going to be on a new 'St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub' that i recently got sent. I have really been enjoying branching out and trying out new skincare products as after a while i find my skin can get slightly immune to them so it is best for me to switch certain products up so they are actually working for me personally. A more intense facial scrub is something i have only started to use in my routine once or twice a week depending on my skins condition at the time. I used to use them a lot more frequently but i found that they were causing more damage than good which defeats the overall purpose.

The St. Ives Apricot Scrub is the UK's best selling scrub brand and nearly everyone has come across it at some point. I remember when i was really little and my nan used to use it all the time and the yummy apricot scent literally stuck in memory, i thinks she still even uses it today...proof that it is a great product :D Like most scrubs the formulation of this one still has a gritty texture and will gently exfoliate the skin to reveal bright, smooth and more radiant skin almost instantly. According to St. Ives the Apricot Scrub range is suitable to use on a daily basis, however, for me personally i prefer using scrubs once or twice a week to get the best results from them. I must say i preferred using it during my night time skincare routine near the end of the week to help remove all of the residue or nasties that were still left in my skin from the week.

The Invigorating Apricot scrub is part of the 'Fresh Skin' range, however St. Ives also offers Apricot Scrubs for 'Timesless Skin', 'Naturally Clear' and 'Sensative Skin', so there is something for everyone to try. St. Ives talk about how your face comes first and if it looks great then you feel great and i couldn't agree more. When my skin is more radiant, blemish free and glowy i don't know what it is but i do feel more confident. The Invigorating Apricot Scrub gives you the power to uncover your best skin, naturally revealing fresh and glowing skin...which sounds perfect! :D

The Invigorating Scrub is oil free, non-irriating, dermalogicaly tested, has 100% natural ingredients, 100% natural extracts and is formulated without parabens and phthalates. The scrub is made around three key ingredients - Apricots; which are known to contain one of the highest levels of caratenoids (vitamin A) and super-effective antioxidants. All of this combined is actually quite gentle and nourishing and they help make fresher, more nourished skin possible. Corn Kernel Meal; this is actually flour ground from dried corn. It's soft but a gently powerful all-natural exfoliant that promotes skin cell turnover and regeneration. Lastly, Walnut; is know for it's hard shell, but when it's ground, it becomes an amazingly effective, all-natural exfoliant ingredient within the scrub itself. Not only are Walnuts plentiful throughout the world, they also help newer, healthier skin come to the surface.

The packaging has been re-designed slightly but it still has the classic squeeze tube which is great at getting the right amount you need for your face. When you first squeeze a small amount onto your hand you notice the exfoliant particles and the gorgeous Apricot scent, you can really tell that it is made from all-natural ingredients. I like to use the scrub firstly by wetting my face slightly, then massaging a small amount all over my face making sure to be super gentle around the sensitive areas on the face like the eyes. Massaging the face gently can promote blood circulation thus making the skin more radiant and glowy...so using both methods together you are really going to see the benefits. After, simply wash your face with water and pat dry with a towel. Then continue with the rest of your skincare routine. I found my skin was really lovely and soft instantly after using the scrub and my skin definitely felt more re-freshed and the scent of light Apricot lingered ever so slightly for a while. Overall, i am really enjoying using the product weekly and have been seeing some great results. It has a mild yet extremely fresh scent, it is very inexpensive for something that will last you a long time, a little really does go a long way as the product lathers slightly on your face. You feel like the product is working almost immediately and your skin feels extremely clean, smooth and fresh. If you would like to try the scrub out for yourself you can pick one up at Boots, Superdrug, Tesco and other selected supermarkets and the prices do vary depending where you go.

Hope you all enjoyed this review, i would love to know what you think and any recommendations on your favourite skincare goodies! Like always lovelies, if you have any questions, requests or if you just want a chat you can contact me on my social media or leave me a comment below. 4. I used to use St Ives scrubs but I've found that they're a bit too harsh for my sensitive skin. Nowadays, I use the scrub from Simple. The rice water and the small grains are really effective.

  5. St Ives use to do the 'Gentle' version to this which was in gel form; was the best facial scrub ever. But that was discontinued, and instead they introduced the 'cream' and 'Invigorating' versions. Both of them for me completely broke me out, which was disappointing for me. However my mum likes both of them, and was absolutely fine.
